Sign Language Week

Sign Language Week is run on an annual basis by the BDA. The aim of the campaign is to encourage people of all ages across the UK to take up the challenge of learning BSL for themselves and finding out more about the language and culture of the Deaf and Deafblind British people for whom BSL is their first or preferred language.

If your school has been inspired by this campaign and would like to make a £1 donation per pupil towards the work being carried out by the British Deaf Association, you can do so on the BDA website.

Alternatively, if you would like to ask parents to make a donation you can using the parent pay app.

The donations will be used to enable them promote BS for generations to come ensuring Deaf children have access to their own language from birth. Currently this is not available to them and they want to change that.
